i played in a tennis tournament over the weekend - my first one ever.

i lost both games but had fun. i entered the wrong event - the open, instead of the 4.5 rating and under. good practice though. my first match was 1-6, 0-6 against a man from cranbrook, bc who was the tournament pro.

my second match was 2-6, 2-6 against a tournament veteran. it was a better match than it appears though, as a lot of the games went to deuce.

last friday, july 24th, a crew of my company's finest hockey players competed in the stantec sticks on 23rd charity street hockey tournament. i am not sure the number of teams (though math would tell me 16), but we somehow came out on top.

there were some solid teams - like a U of S Husky squad and a Saskatoon Blazers team. we went 4-0 to become A Side Champs and win a nice Stanley Cup replica (for the year) which we carried around proudly.

each team had one WHL or NHL player - including Colby Armstrong and Luke Schenn. Our representative was tampa bay prospect blair jones - who was a big component in us winning, though our entire team played solid and i potted my share of goals.
