the "tiger", weekend plans

after working a ton lately, i am done for the week and plan on taking it super easy this weekend - including monday which i have taken off.

i hope to get some recording done as well.

saw the vancouver band "pride tiger" at louis' tonight. i had previously seen them at amigos last year. they kicked ass - very tight band, energy, riff based, led zeppelin esque, with the key difference that the lead singer is the drummer - very cool

they only played for an hour, but for $10, that was well worth it

i bought myself a t-shirt for $10 after and talked to the lead singer for a minute and had him sign it. cool show

thoughts

so, i have pondered that music often sounds very good in my car. therefore, it would be worthwhile to try recording myself with an acoustic inside of it - with modern technology, i could easily fit my laptop, mixer and microphone. the only external power i would need would be for my one phantom power unit, which i could buy a lighter adapter for...with winter coming this might have to wait until spring or a very mild day

thought two:
morality aside, i was wondering whether betrayal or rejection is worse to face

happy birthday robert!

it is my brother robert's 25th birthday (wow). hope he has a good one in vancouver!

recooping

so this is my second evening at home after being released from hospital. i lost about ten pounds during my stay, which is really nothing like 'real' weight loss. i ran some errands today for about an hour and ate a legit meal.

i know most people were wondering "oh no, what will happen to the superalbum? should we expect a post humous release of semi complete material?" (ya right)

that morbid thought aside... apart from the obvious no fun found in being in a hospital and ill, it was a good long break from the internet and my computer and deadlines and let me think about what is important to me in this crazy, crazy world. i look to record tomorrow (i should have the house to myself) with increased zeal and with more of a message to express.....stay tuned

well, it's been a month!

ok, so blogging has clogged to a halt. i've been very busy. i will try to do a quick recap of events:

1) got a new job in saskatoon with zu.com communications

2) went on a independent roadtrip through Saskatoon-Lloydminster-Edmonton-Calgary where i met with friends and family along the way, including my new niece Berlyn Marie Code. also made living arrangements for the summer.

3) finished working for the chinook school division last friday

4) have been packing the last few days and playing ball hockey the last couple of nights

5) move back to saskatoon on thursday

Words of Wisdom
The greater the stupidity, the greater the clarity. Stupidity is brief and guileless, while wit equivocates and hides. Wit is a scoundrel, while stupidity is honest and sincere.

Tom Petty - Waiting For Tonight ()

Just out walking, letting my mind roam
If she hung around too much I might take her for granted
But when I was away, she seemed an angel
The only one who really cared about me
The only one without an angle
For so long I've been lonely
Now I'm too weak to fight

I've been waiting for tonight
I've been waiting for tonight
