Music Favourites for 2013

In alphabetical order, here are 6 albums released in 2013 that I enjoyed.

  Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse

  Probably my most listened to album of last year. Rocking, brooding, catchy.

  Key Tracks:  Holy, Nitrous Gas

  Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Push the Sky Away

  When at the top of his game, Cave is one of the best lyricist/melodists around. Also check out the 'Live at KCRW' album which has many tracks from this release.

  Alela Dianne - About Farewell

  Heartbreaking at times, a great singer-songwriter recording

  Key Tracks:  black sheep, about farewell, colorado blue

• 
  The National - Trouble Will Find Me

  Another album with dark melodic themes.

  Key Tracks:  fireproof, sea of love, this is the last time

• 
  Serena Ryder - Harmony

  Nice mostly upbeat songs and melodies

  Key Tracks:  stompa, what I wouldn't do
